Three days of steady wind, fresh powder, natural hot springs, and great kiter camaraderie made the 9th annual Montana Snowkite Rodeo a resounding success. The Rodeo organizers steadily strive to improve upon past year’s achievements. This year was no exception. In fact, many Rodeo veterans felt it was the best one in years due to great snow conditions and the challenging kite terrain.

Pushed hard by his trainer Xevi Carrasco and supported by Ozone Importer for Spain Kite Frenzy, Patrick has had a fantastic year in 2011 winning the Junior European Freestyle Championships and the Spanish Junior Wave and Freestyle Championships too.

I was recently lucky enough to fly Ozone’s land based power kite, the OCTANE!
I was immediately surprised at how stable and easy flying the OCTANE was, I had great fun jibing up and down the peaceful Raglan beach just enjoying the beautiful and breath taking scenery.
Kitelandboarding during 2011 was one of my best years so far. During the year I had the chance to film a kite advert for Blackberry in Chile (South America) for a week, it was more of a holiday than work as what’s better than being paid for what you love to do.
I also filmed some kiting for the BBC and Sky 3D during the year which was a great as it was a new experience to film kiting in 3D.

Marek “Murphy” Zach has won the official Czech Snowkite Championships! The event took place in Abertamy at the Czech-German border and concentrated mainly on race and freestyle.
The organisers built great kickers and ramps using a snowmobile and the race track went across some trees and hills.
As the sport seems to be gaining greatly in popularity in Czech Republic many new riders were to be seen, both high level men and women kiters.
After an epic journey of more than 5013 kilometers, 74 days on the ice, and with a world record distance to their name, Dixie Dansercoer and Sam Deltour are bringing their Antarctic ICE Expedition to a close.
From fresh powder to sick waves in Cape Town…
After the Snow kite masters I decided to leave the winter for a bit and find some sun and nice waves to ride. I was in Cape Town last year and I loved it so it was easy to return.
I left Norway in the morning and landed in the night in Cape Town. It was windy and the forecast looked good for the next few days. It was a bit crazy to wake up to 25 degrees and waves rolling in, I was in heaven.
